Red Salute
Red Salute
A salute, offered to an equal
Out of mutual respect,
Between comrades, and
Not to a master.
A salute, detached from
The constructs of heirarchy
And fear, buckled to acceptance
Of the other.
A salute, free from power relations
Rising from the voices of the unheard and ignored.
A gesture of love,
A symbol of unity.
A salute, easily counterfieted
To foreground spectral equality.
A couterfiet with the power
To claim power.
The salute, eternal and universal.
Though thousand times imitated, exploited,
Prevails in the minds with the power
Only to see equals.
A salute, offered to an equal
Out of mutual respect,
Between comrades, and
Not to a master.
A salute, detached from
The constructs of heirarchy
And fear, buckled to acceptance
Of the other.
A salute, free from power relations
Rising from the voices of the unheard and ignored.
A gesture of love,
A symbol of unity.
A salute, easily counterfieted
To foreground spectral equality.
A couterfiet with the power
To claim power.
The salute, eternal and universal.
Though thousand times imitated, exploited,
Prevails in the minds with the power
Only to see equals.
